Approval of Previous Minutes —
Meeting minutes from May 18, 2023. Motion to approve by Becci Akin. Seconded by Kristin Villa. Motion passed unanimously.
Reports—
Faculty Senate Report
Reporter: Victor Gonzalez (Faculty Senate President)
Victor and Kristin started the regular meetings with the provost. Victor reported they talked about COACHE and the policies. Victor and Kristin had a meeting with Amy Mendenhall, Faculty Affairs. Victor reported they attended an All-Teams Meeting. This is a meeting with all the Deans and the Provost. He said they attended the provost’s retreat, and this was a continuation of this. Victor will attend the KBOR meeting in a couple of weeks.
University Senate Report
Reporter: Kristin Villa (University Senate President)
Kristin went to the Staff Senate’s meeting with the provost. They mentioned Wellness Week, which is the week before New Year’s. They discussed parking. The Shared Governance task force that was started last year is not continuing. Ani Kobobobo, Nicole Hodges Persley, and Mike Rounds were the co leads. The provost would like to send the final report to campus. Jill Hummels will collaborate with Governance to distribute this. We need to be sure to give credit to these co leads.
New Business —
Kristin mentioned that we are organizing to get moving on COACHE and the recommendation.
Victor suggested moving to a closed session to discuss faculty senate and committee replacements. Kristin Villa made a motion to move to closed session. Becci Akin seconded. All were in favor. Moved to closed session.
