Boards and Commissions
The University Boards, Commissions, and Other Committees include those housed within University Governance and others housed within other university offices. University Governance assists with these bodies in various degrees.
Commissions
Parking Commission
The Parking Commission makes recommendations regarding parking policies on campus and is comprised of students, faculty, unclassified and university support staff appointed by the Provost. Each year, the Commission sends rules changes to the Provost for final administrative approval.
Transit Commission
The Transit Commission develops and recommends to the provost general policies for the management of transit for University of Kansas students and staff.
Hearing Boards
Judicial Board
The Judicial Board acts to resolve conflicts, complaints, and grievances subject to its jurisdiction and arising within the University community, to hear appeals from other bodies where appropriate Rules and Regulations so provide, and to recommend solutions.
Disciplinary Action Hearing Board for University Support Staff
The Hearing Board hears appeals of disciplinary actions taken to suspend, demote, or dismiss a university support staff member with permanent status.
Library Appeals Board
The Library Appeals Board reviews all appeals of library fines submitted to it within the framework of the policy guidelines set by the Senate Library Committee.
Court of Parking Appeals
The Court of Parking Appeals hears all contests of citations and parking permit revocations issued by the Parking & Transit Department for alleged violations of the University Parking regulations. The Court also has the authority to make final rulings on questions involving the meaning or application of the Court’s procedural regulations.
