Recommendations to Improve Faculty Job Satisfaction to be Shared at Forum
Sent on behalf of Faculty Senate President Nate Brunsell, University Senate President Ani Kokobobo, and Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor Barbara Bichelmeyer.
Dear Colleagues,
We want to sincerely thank those of you who participated in the COACHE Faculty Job Satisfaction Survey forums on our campuses and virtually in late February and early March. Around 200 faculty attended online or in person. AIRE and University Governance staff gathered all your feedback and conveyed your insights to the COACHE Advisory Team. The team has been hard at work drafting action step recommendations in these areas: Compensation, Leadership and Shared Governance, Nature of Work, Appreciation and Recognition, Family Policies.
Please join us for a hybrid public forum, open to all Lawrence and Edwards faculty, during which University Governance leaders will present the recommendations to improve faculty satisfaction at KU. The Provost and Chancellor will address next steps and implementation.

The recommendations are grounded in the suggestions and concerns you shared. Your faculty colleagues have worked diligently to produce recommendations to improve faculty working conditions at KU – these are recommendations for faculty, by faculty. We hope you can join to learn about these proposals. Your continued participation and engagement are essential for making progress together.
Thank you for all you do for KU.
Respectfully,
Barbara Bichelmeyer, Provost & Executive Vice Chancellor
Ani Kokobobo, University Senate President
