Approval of Previous Minutes —
Meeting minutes from November 10, 2025. The minutes were sent before the meeting. Hearing no changes, the minutes were approved.
Unfinished Business —
The Anthropology P&T documents were reviewed. All were in favor of the changes the department made. Ari will notify the department that the changes were approved.
New Business —
P&T and PTTR forms
Meagan shared the suggested edits to the P&T and PTTR forms before the meeting. Meagan explained why the changes are recommended.
- There is no requirement to differentiate between major and minor scholarly work at the University, so the form was made clearer.
- Student evaluations. The language reflected the old method. The update will make the document less confusing.
Comments:
- Problem with the use of “All” in the student evaluations. Sometimes there are problems with the comments.
- Some departments scan the comments. If comments are used in the department evaluation, they are used in the university evaluation.
- There was discussion on the report that is generated from student evaluations. The report is combined. Now you need to do some editing to remove specific comments.
- The issue that everyone needs to submit student comments is an FSRR requirement.
- Teri said she cannot support the recommended text for student evaluations.
- Can someone provide a teaching statement, more of a reflection on how you respond to comments? They can talk to the comments. It has to be at the department level not to include comments.
- This is an ongoing conversation/issue with student evaluations.
Brittany Melton motioned to approve the suggested edit for major/minor in the document. Ari seconded the motion. All were in favor. Motion passed unanimously.
There will be more discussion on student evaluations. Meagan will bring items to discuss at the next meeting for a possible amendment to the FSRR.
Meeting was adjourned.
