Approval of Previous Minutes —

Meeting minutes from November 10, 2024. Motion to approve by Mugur Geana. None opposed. Motion passed,

New Business —

Discussed the allocation in CLAS. There was a recommendation to meet with the CLAS Associate Dean, Nick Syrett, and let him decide. The College can make the final decision on the breakdown of funds.

Josh Round shared the old allocation and new allocation model. Comments:

  • The School of Professional Studies was added based on a recommendation last year.
  • Joshua would like to join the meeting with Marcy, Nick, and Maria (CLAS allocation).
  • A lump sum to the College seems reasonable, but a conversation to check there are not complications with this method before would be good.
  • Will there be a yearly headcount of PIs? Yes, we can do this on a 3-year cycle. We can get a KUCR headcount annually. The allocations can change yearly. It can be off cycle.
  • Comments on running the report in the future. KUCR can let AIRE know to run this report annually. It is important when requesting data to be specific.

There will be an official committee vote on the recommendations. Suzanne will send a vote to all research committee members to vote on this:

Use eligible PI data to create a new allocation for the GRF?

The next step is to present at FacEx. Josh and Celka to attend the FacEx meeting on Feb. 20.
