Support for orientation, reach out to student groups as well? Need student input

New Business

Discussion of possible charges

General vs Specific: General is good – allows flexibility, can be more broadly applied, we focus on details

Support for orientation, reach out to student groups as well? Need student input

Look through Green New Deal research that’s been done to discuss at next meeting

Cameron supports idea of committee as a space/forum for staff, students and faculty to communicate and education

Outreach in the form of surveys? Staff and student input? Get feedback as to what’s important to them

Survey/Forum has support

Subcommittees? Ex: Survey subcommittee, Orientation subcommittee

Move toward being a STARS reporting university again

Guest Speakers: Jade Chalkley

Discussed AASHE & STARS reporting – committee could support KU rejoining this, but costs money ($2525ish), and is a long, intensive process; focus on data collection, Johnson County Community College has one of best rankings for CC in US, Our peer institutions report as well

Fee is not insurmountable, per Cameron

KUMed is member, why aren’t we?

Post Landfill Action network (mini STARS-like waste reporting tool ATLAS) to get waste data, good tool for talking to administration
