- APR (Academic Progress Rate) from last year was record high.
- Multi Year Rate – Want to see student athletes making academic progress.
As of Spring 2025, CLAS decreased in student athlete enrollment, but not by very much. School of Education and School of Business increased in student athlete enrollment.
The student athlete population is expected to drop due to roster loads. The house settlement hasn’t been approved yet, but in planning stages like it’s going to be approved.
Austin asks about job employment after students leave.
KBOR is looking at jobs in Kansas – would KC metro be included in this?
Kansas City, MO is very close. An ideal goal is to give back to the state of Kansas and keep people here.
BUS 110 – Fall is biggest concern. Tuesdays at 3:30pm could work.
Ryan mentions many programs are going to morning practice.
FIN 305 – only one class in the fall at 8am and not offered this summer. Would this be an issue with morning practices?
Trends in student athletes with online versus in-person. Ryan sees more enrollment in online classes. This helps with morning practices.
Centralized scheduling push with 70% fill rate average throughout the day. Provost mentioned this will help prevent courses from being very early or very late in the day.
Many students are trying to dual major, but many professors are doing T/TH courses – and those conflict.
This fall will be the first test. Capitol Fed will be getting other classes such as Physics.
Matt Tidwell: Student Athlete Advisory Report: Evanna and Matt worked on some survey questions for University athletes exit survey.
Jayhawk Hub surveys – what is going to be the purpose of this?
- Students spend most of their time in Canvas but do they look at things in Canvas – or do they check their e-mails more?
- This may connect with “advisor videos” down the road.
- This is also something that’s easy to include in student’s Canvas. This will likely happen more down the road.
- It’s getting at a good question regarding “orientation”:
- What will the post-implementation look like?
- Once it’s there, who manages this?
- “Welcome to College” tile and resource tiles may be helpful.
- Students that are transfer athletes – this may be helpful for.
Meeting Adjourned.
