FY2015 University Senate

KU Procedures for the Board of Regents Social Media Policy
Approved by University Senate April 9, 2015
Sent to Provost April 14, 2015

Resolution on Domestic Partner Benefits
Approved by University Senate April 9, 2015

Completed FY2015:

Amendments to the University Senate Code regarding the new "One Staff" Senate.

Discussed: February 12, 2015, motion made to vote on same day, passed.

Approved by Provost and Chancellor

USRR 1.3.9 and 1.4.5

Rationale:  KU has many students currently serving as members of the military who may be activated at any time with temporary orders in support of state or national emergencies.  KU currently does not have a policy requiring instructors and departments to provide these student service members with the opportunity to make up exams should they be temporarily activated during the semester.  The proposed amendments would make these temporary absences comparable to an absence for a verifiable medical crisis of a relative or friend for which KU provides the opportunity to make up missed work

Discuss & Approved: October 9, 2014
21 Day Review Period Ended: November 5, 2014
Sent to Provost November 18, 2014
Approved by Provost and Chancellor, March 10, 2015.  The University Senate Code and the Staff Senate Code will reflect changes effective May 1, 2015.
